I have an old computer and firefox can become slow... what alternatives are there?
Firefox can run slowly on moderately low spec computers, and so in these cases it is recommended that you use a web browser with the same power and security of Firefox. There are some projects designed to create a browser that is more responsive on slow computers, not necessarily integrating all the powerful features of Firefox but still using the core of the beneficial technologies.
For the Windows operating system, you can use K-Meleon as an alternative where Firefox seems slow. This uses the core Gecko rendering engine that is still the base of Firefox, but is designed for older computers. Computers running Windows 95, 98, ME or even low-end Windows XP machines are recommended to use K-meleon as an alternative web browser to Firefox.
